I have an Michael Carney who was married to a Bridget Butler in Ireland sometime prior to 1820 when they had a son Andrew Carney born at St Regis, Quebec which is across the St Lawrence from upstate New York. In 1822 in Montreal they had another son Edward born. Think Michael father might have been Edward. There was an Edward Carney living in Niagra about the same time. Could this be the same family?
