I am seeking information about Martin Thomas Carney, born in Liverpool, 1842. He moved with family James and Ann Carney to Malden, MA in 1854. Also Brother, James, 2 years younger. In about 1858, young Martin Carney's mother, who was English, named Ann Long, died. Martin moved to Boston area with brother, James. Father unknown whereabouts. Young Carney, however, took new name: Martin Theodore Kearney and began career in a trunk company, prospering through Civil War, then abruptly leaving company to come to come to California to become Raisin King. Anyone want to claim him or his family as descendents?
