Hi,
I'm hoping someone may have information concerning my Great Grandmother, Hattie Mae Carnes Tucker (born 1890).
Albert Carnes married Susan "Susie" Tucker whom is a sister of my Great Grandfather, Robert Oscar Tucker. Robert married Hattie in 1903 (in Hart County, GA) and she passed away on 1926 when my Grandmother, Bronie Tucker Brewer was 6 years old. I had someone on Ancestry state they believe Albert and Hattie was siblings but cannot find her listed on any census reports linking them. But I find it interesting that two "Carnes" married into the Tucker Family.
According to Hattie's death certificate, her Father is listed as "Joseph Jordan" and mother is listed as "Carnes" with no first name. After looking at the parents of Albert, I find his Mother was a "Jordan" and she had a brother named Josephus Jordan, which has me wondering if this is her father. Speaking to a 2nd cousin, he thought Hattie's Grandfather was named Alfred, but cannot find anything to support a Alfred in the Family.
Before my Father passed away, he told me his Granddad Tucker always told him that Hattie was buried in an unmarked grave at Crossroads Baptist Church in Hart County. I contacted the church and they had several Carnes and Jordan's, but no Hattie Carnes Tucker. I've been trying to find an obituary, but had no luck.
I'm wondering if anyone have found anything in your research for a Hattie Mae Carnes Tucker.
Thank you in advance for any help someone can give me. I had hoped to solve this mystery before my Father passed away, but was not able and still at a road block.
