Maybe some of this will help. William Dixon Carnell,b.Feb. 14, 1800 Person County NC. was the son of Hubbard Carnell,b.1761 VA. and Elizabeth Dixon,b. 1771, VA daughter of Edmund Dixon and Catherine Warren. Hubbard and Elizabeth moved from NC to Humphreys County TN around 1819. Hubbard died in 1845 and Elizabeth died in Lauderdale County TN sometime after 1860 and was returned to Humphreys County to be buried in the Carnell Cemetery. John W. Carnell (my gg grandfather was a brother of William Dixon Carnell. Hubbard Carnell was the son of Patrick Carnell,b. 1739 in VA who was married to Mary ?. Patrick died in July 1789 in Caswell County NC.
