Carnuel Family MS Census Census Typo?

I have been searching for Sid D Carnell (born 3/15/1876) for weeks now and wonder if I have found him. I found a Carnuel family in the 1880 Census in Marshall County MS. James & Ellen Carnuel with their children Mary, William J., Louisie & Sidney. I believe Sid was born in TN and that is what this census indicates. The birth year is also correct. James and Ellen are both listed as born in TN. James parents born in NC.
Sid died in 1905 in Union County, MS. He was only 29 years old. He left behind 2 young daughters--one of them was Ethel Pearl Carnell. She was my G Grandma.

I cannot find the Carnuel family on any other census, but I cannot match these names to a census under Carnell either. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Jean
