Carnegie at Kinnaird, Farnell, Angus, S'land 1849
An ancestor, John Martin, had several children born in Brechin where he was a vintner. However on 11 Oct 1849 he was residing at Kinnaird, Parish of Farnell, and a daughter was born there later christened Catherine Noel Carnegie Martin.Presumably the Carnegie was in honour of his employer but where did the name Noel come from? Was there a Noel Carnegie around?John didn't last long at Kinnaird - by the time his next child was born in 1852 he was back in Brechin.Does anyone know of any estate or family papers relating to the Carneiges at Kinnaird?
