Kristal,
I forwarded your information to Judy, one of my family’s researchers who is experienced with Scottish research.Judy replied with the following suggestions.
1. You have Isabella's exact death date and place.Have you obtained Isabella’s death certificate from Scotlandspeople (http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk)?This document should contain her mother’s name and Isabella’s age at time of death. The latter can be used to calculate the year of birth.
2. The marriage certificate for William Pickard and Isabella Smith (available from Scotlandspeople) should include the father’s names and other useful information.
3. Census records should be checked to see where Isabella was born. The census record after she was married is the best place to start.
4. There are two John Smith marriages to an Amelia on the IGI.You may consider looking at John Smith and Amelia Smith (same surname) m. 11th July 1813 Peterhead – this may be your family.
Regards
David
