Do you have a lead that suggests David Wynford CARNEGIE was connected to 'the' Andrew CARNEGIE?

David Wynford CARNEGIE (b.1871), was the youngest son of James 9th Earl of Southesk. He (DWC) never married.

According to my notes: "Travelled to Australia in 1892 and remained in the Coolgardie goldfields for about 5 years. In 1896-97 explored route from Coolgardie to Halls Creek. Author of 'Spinifex and Sand'. Elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.
Accepted appt as Assistant Registrar in Nigeria, 1899. Died there as result of poisoned arrow in 1900."
