Another Andrew Carnegie connection

Hi

Two separate sources of oral tradition within my mother's family suggests a relationship to Andrew Carnegie.
The connection is my great-grandfather, George Carnegie SMITH (circa 1830, Aberdeen SCT - 1910, Alberton, South Australia), who appears to be the son of John Smith and Amelia Carnegie (dau of William Carnegie). John and Amelia were married 18th December 1824 at Saint Nicholas, Aberdeen.

Can anyone associated with the family of Andrew Carnegie provide any information to confirm if a relationship between Andrew and my great-grandfather exists?
