Our family records show that Mary Ferguson (b. 6 Jun 1760 in Co. Donegal, Ireland), d/o Henry and Margaret Ferguson, m. an "Unknown" Carmichael abt. 1785 in Ireland, probably Co. Donegal. Besides what we have found on the "left side of the pond," there is a website maintained by a gentleman in England who also has the same data (it can be viewed at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/carmichael.world/jimstree/dat368.htm#12). What we would like to find, naturally, is who Mary's husband was and whether or not they had any descendants. Henry died in 1780 in Ireland and his widow and all of the children emigrated to America in 1789, first settling in Pennsylvania, perhaps in Berks County. She was part of a group of at least two and possibly three other families who all traveled to America. When Margaret died in 1795, the children and the other original group of family members then migrated down to Washington County, TN. Three subsequent generations of descendants lived in this area. If someone finds any information, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you...!!!
