We still believe that Samuel B. Carmack descends from Jessie Carmack and Tearcy Kent of Craven County, NC.We just can't prove it.They married before William Carmack and Pency Kent and Samuel B. Carmack may have been named Samuel after Samuel Kent, Tearcy's father.Pency
Kent was a cousin to Tearcy Kent. It's possible that Jessie Carmack was the son of Solomon Carmack, and may have been the brother or cousin of William.William Carmack's descendants are the one that we
have a postive DNA match, but there are no records for Samuel being a child of William, and his birth was too early for the couple to have him.I believe that Tearcy Kent died after the birth of Samuel B.
Carmack andthere is a Jessie Y. Carmack who married Patience Kent the widow of (I think Levi Heath)."
Some of these ideas stem from stories handed down by relatives
