I'm looking for information on John H. CARLYLE of Woodford Co, KY. He was married to Nancy CARLYLE, daughter of George CARLYLE and Margaret CROCKETT of Woodford county. An outline of what I know: 1 John H. CARLYLE b: Bef. 1793 d: 1820-1827 +Nancy CARLYLE b: Bef. 1793 m: 29 Oct 1810 Woodford Co, KY Father: George CARLYLE Mother: Margaret "Peggy" CROCKETT 2 Mary Ann CARLYLE b: 1813 KY d: Aft. 1849 +Jacob BROWN b: 11 Dec 1795 m: 29 Nov 1835 Woodford Co, KY, by Rev. Blackman d: 23 Jul 1849 Woodford Co, KY 2 Eliza W. CARLYLE b: 1814 d: 1836 Woodford Co, KY "John H. Carlyle and Nancy Carlyle - 29 Oct 1810, Bondsman: Geo. Winlock - Consent: George Carlyle and Margret Carlyle, parents of Nancy Carlile - Consent attested by Polly Carlyle and Geo Winlock". From "Carlile And Related Families, Augusta, Bath and Highland Counties Virginia 1745 to 1875" by Carol Watson and Frances Buchanan Arlington, 1994. "May have died before 19 May 1827 when an agreement of the heirs of George Carlile was signed which did not mention Nancy; her daughters Mary Ann and Eliza were given one share together...." I have information on Nancy's immediate family, but nothing about John H. CARLYLE. Were they cousins? Could John H. have been the son of one of George CARLYLE's brothers that moved from VA to KY? John H. apparently died fairly early; they only had two children. Does anyone have any information on him? Thanks! Jim Fristoe fristoe@mindspring.com
