Could someone help, please?! My ancestor was Mary Crockett Carlyle, wife of Samuel Nuckols, and daughter of George and Margaret Crockett Carlyle . In "The History of Woodford County, Kentucky," they are listed as such, but it also states that George was the only son of John Carlyle and Sarah Fairfax of Alexandria, VA. However, I have found other pedigrees for George on the internet that show his parents as Robert and Agnes Nancy Carlile. (and Robert's parents, James and Elizabeth Carlile.) I have also seen on another forum where someone else was questioning this - that individual indicated that the only son of John and Sarah would have died early and couldn't have been George. Was the "History" incorrect? Do you have any information which would clarify George's parents?
