If anyone has any information on this family
PLEASE HELP ME! I am at a total loss right
now. I am beginning to think that my Carlyle
(also spelled Carlile, Carlisle) family just
fell off of Mars. Here is what little info
that I do have on my Carlyle line:
The father of our first known Carlyle
ancestor was b.in VA probably before 1793.
His wife was from Wales. They were married
before 1813. They had five known children:
Thomas Edward Carlyle (1813- 1897) b. in VA
m. Caroline Lynde (1814-1853) in 1838 in
Richland Co. OH
George Washington Carlyle (1816-1855) b. in
VA m. Susan Matthews abt. 1834 probably in OH
Lafayette Carlyle (1826-1903) b. in VA m.
Belinda or Melinda Bates (1829-1898) in 1862
probably in Livingston Co. MO
Mary Jane Carlyle (1828-1882) b. in VA m.
David C. Legg (b.1814) in 1845 in Bowie Co.TX
David Carlyle (d.abt. 1884 in Mason Co. WV)
m. Anna McVicker.
We believe that most or all of this family
went to Richland Co. OH and then in 1838 to
Livingston Co. MO.
I do have info on these ppls. children and
some of their childrens children. If any of
these names are familiar to you PLEASE HELP
ME! I'm at a total loss right now. If you are
related to this family I am willing to share
what info that I do have.
