Glad to hear from you. I really don't know anything about Lemuel's family. Was trying to find out for sure what his middle name was as some people had told me it was Washbourne instead of WAshington. But, it sounds like the family knows that it was Washington.

I'm familiar with the reference you made from Sturgis' History of McDonald Co. regarding his being sheriff in Southwest City and fighting with the bank robbers.

He married the sister of my great grandfather and lived in SW City quite awhile as I've found out. As I mentioned in my previous posts they have two children buried in the SW City cemetery.

Do you know where Lemuel and Sarah are buried and when she died?

I know a lot about the Stevenson side of the family - back to John Stevenson who fought in the Revolutionary War. But nothing on the Carlyle side.

Would be happy to share what I have.
