My name is Stefan Puke and i live in Karlskrona Sweden
I have been looking for relatives in Amerika for a while.
Several of my relatives emmigrated to Amerika in the 1880:s.
One was Carl Gustaf Puke with his family.
When they came to America they changed their last name to Gustafson and Carlson
they were;
Born 1824-12-13 Head Carl Gustaf Puke (Charles)Carl Gustafsson lived and died in Peoria Illinois 1903-02-27.
Born 1827-08-14 wife Johanna Sofia Johansdotter she died in Peoria 1897-06-21
Born 1852-04-02 daughter Alfrida Euforsyne Puke (Gustafson)
Born 1853-10-10 Son Johan Oscar Puke (Gustafson). First marriage with Amanda, 2:nd with Sofia 1910 lived in Peoria with wife Sofia and daughter Ellen age 20. Oscar died 1922-04-06 in Peoria
Born 1856-05-24 Son Adolf Cornelius Puke (Gustafson)
Born 1858-01-18 son Carl August Puke (Carlson)
Born 1861-01-09 Son Georg Aron Puke (Gustafson)
Born 1862-06-26 son Hjalmar Herbert Puke (John Gustafson)Married Josephine Peterson in Mattoon got two children who died early. They went to California where John died early.
The familt went back to Mattoon where Josephie married Victor Gustafson. John died 1887-01-06
Born 1864-02-27 son Emil Victor Puke (Gustafson)married Josephine Peterson. They got 5 children, two died early.
they lived in Mattoon. Victor died 1935-12-05.
Born 1866-03-13 son Gustav Bernard Puke (Barney Gustafson)1900 lived in Peoria with wife Hulda and son Leonard and two daughters Agnes and Edith they lived there in 1910 too.
Barney died 1910-05-14.
Born 1868-03-02 daughter Johanna Maria Puke (Gustafson)
Married Nels Johnson. They got 6 children. 1926 when Nels died they lived in Homewood Chicago.When her brother Otto died 1953 she lived in Homewood and her name was Mary Odle.
Born 1870-08-13 son Otto Wilhelm Puke (Gustafson) 1900 and 1910 he and his wife Nellie lived in Peoria. 1910 their grandson Willard lived with them.Otto died 1953-06-11 in Peoria
Carl Gustaf brother that lived in Peoria too wrote to Sweden to his brothers sonin 1905:
My brother Carl died 2 years ago 79 years old he had 10 children all married but half of them are dead of (Exidena at railroad) but grandchildren there is a lot of but none has the surname Puke Carls childrens surname is Gustafson and mine is Arons and Poukey´s.
Do you know anything about these people above or do you kwow someone who does.
