ALFRED W. CARLSON was born in Sweden in 1861 according to the 1900 US Census. He immigrated to the US in 1875 at age 14. He was married; living in NY and had the following children: Annie b. 1887; George b. 1889; Minnie b. 1894. His first wife died between 1894 and 1898. His son, Arthur(my grandfather) was born in 1898 to Alfred and his 2nd wife, Clara. I believe her maiden name was SWANSON. She immigrated at age 20 in 1895. By 1898 the family was living in New Jersey. In 1900 they were living in Elizabeth. Alfred worked at Singer Sewing Machine Co.
I would like to share information on this family. What I have learned from the 1900 census is all I know.
