Found this in Mrs. Frank Ross James 1976 book, Pike County,AlabamaQUOTE: "Jason Carlisle served in the Creek War of 1836.He was born in 1808 in SC, son of Richard Carlisle, native of England, who came to America prior to the Revolution.Richard Carlisle came to Alabama before 1820, and settled in Jefferson County.He died in 1855.Daniel, the father of Richard, was killed in the Revolution, and his widow, Margaret, drew a pension (W 15629). After serving with Jackson in the War, Jason married Permelia Stubbs, daughter of Lewis Stubbs,1812 Soldier, who settled in the northern part of Pike in 1833, being a native of Edgefield District, SC....
Some of this is known of Richard Carlisle.Some is new info.Is anyone familiar with Margaret Carlisle or Daniel Carlisle?Could Margaret be an alternate identify of Phoebe Carlisle?
