Hi Jill, I'm looking for Carlings from the Warren County Area myself. I have a Rachel Carling Married to William Pence on 8/25/1828 Mansfield NJ. I also show a brother John who is married to a Sarah and they had two children John and Samuel, but this information is from the 1850 Census.
Rachel and William had one child Mary Ann Pence who Married Isaac Scott Jr.
Rachel's father is John Carling, I got this information from William Pence's Will, and John Carling's parents are Peter and Susan, I don't have any more information on those two.
John Carling was born 4/15/1782 died 9/8/1857.
Joseph Carling D: 2/5/1841 son of John and S_LL_der Age 38.
Mark Carling D: 5/25/1848 21 years, 10 months, 19 days,
Mary Carling 3/25/1848 age 21
Mary A. Carling B: 7/22/1832 D: 10/3/1917
Sarah B: 2/16/1804 D: 1/2/1878 Wife of John
Waler D: 3/18/1877
This information came from a book of tombstone readings in the Mansfield Woodhouse Cemetery in Washington NJ in 1937 found in Easton Library, Marx Room, Easton Pa. I went there and only two stones are remaining.
