Hi. I'm hoping someone might have some info on
James Cates Carlisle, b. 24 Jul 1836 Kentucky, son of John Carlisle, b. KY and a mother unknown, b. England (all according to his death certificate).
James C. Carlisle moved to California around 1860 where he married Isabella Barton on 16 Sep 1869 in Solano, CA. They had one child, Percival Chester Carlile. James died in 1918 and is buried in San Gabriel, California.
The surname changes from time to time from Carlisle to Carlile and back again. The present day descendants are Carliles.
