I was wondering about the Native American lineage too. In the book "Ancestry of the Haines, Sharp, Collins...Families" by Richard Haines, 1902, he writes:
"Mary Carlile, the wife of Richard Haines, tradition says, was of Indian lineage, Lenni Lenape. The source through which it comes to us, it cannot be doubted". But he didn't give the source. If you find out anymore definitive information could you post it here and I will do the same.
