Here is the actual link for the Carlile genetic genealogy project http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Carlile/ Genetic genealogy can help prove relationship (or rule them out) when the paper trail has worn thin, and can help track migrations of Carlile lines. Many family surname projects are underway at various labs doing DNA testing for genealogy. All Carliles/Carlisles/Carlyles are invited to participate. This is a y-dna project so participants need to be male. (Females can join the project by finding a male relative to do the test. Males need to have the Carlile/ surname. Males of other surnames can also find a male Carlile/Carlisle/ of their line to do the test.) For more information see web page above or contact Susan Carlisle Branam at SLBranam@yahoo.com or SL.Carlisle@att.net or Jerry Smith at jerrys3@surewest.net for examples of how other surname DNA projects have worked out I recommend taking a look at these: http://williams.genealogy.fm/results_page.htm http://www.beattydna.org/ http://www.bartondna.info/ For more information on genetic genealogy in general see FamilytreeDNA.com, RelativeGenetics.com and DNAHeritage.com. and http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3038411/ Susan Carlisle Branam Notify Administrator about this message?
