Hello, Dennis,
I have exchanged info with Sue before. We (several Carlile researchers)now have corrected some of the information that she put on the internet. The William Carlisle that married Elizabeth Evans moved to Georgia. He is not our William. We are not kin to the Abbeville Dist., S.C. Carliles/Carlisles as far as we can figure out. Our William came from either Barnwell Co. or Waccamaw Co., S.C.
There is a William Carlile in each of these counties in 1800 but not in 1810. He was already in the Missouri Territory by then.
