Actually, Polly was the daughter of Job and Hannah Lewis Carley - This Job was b. bef. February 24, 1754 as cited in Family History: CT and other CT compilations for Donald Lines Jacobus -- this Job was the son of an Abraham b 1731/2 and Susannah Jackson Carley - son of John and Sarah Sherwood Carley of Fairfield Co., CT NOT Abraham, b 1711 and Sussanna Brookins Carley of Upstate, NY. John Carley was a brother of the Abraham, b 1711 -- Polly was a sister of George Lewis Carley who was in Oswego County, NY between 1832-1836 as cited in an account of a family get-together in the notes of Mae Strickland - " I recall Aunt Polly Gifford, Aunt Hannah Rowland and Aunt Tabitha Adsit all being there together one summer."

"Job Carley (1754)and Hannah Lewis also had a daughter Polly Carley. She married Elihu Wing Gifford. They were my GGg grandparents. Elihu Gifford married Esther Crandall and they had a son Job Carley Gifford b. 1814. Job married Hannah Trowbridge and had a son James Erick Gifford (b1859). James Erick married Ella Margaret Wolgamuth and they had a son Benjamin Grafton Gifford b. 1888. They had a son Wendell Wallace Gifford b. 1921 (my father). My names is Carol Gifford Draut b. 1958.
