Hi Cathy,
Very interesting to hear from you. There may be a family connection. My grandfather Eugene Carley moved his family across the new border to Newry, Co. Down in 1922.They moved from Glencar in Co. Leitrim although he had come from Co. Roscommon.
The Fallon link is intriging as my grandmother was certainly friendly with the Fallons although whether this was in Co. Down or Co.Roscommon I can't remember. Will check with my mother and get back to you in a few days.

Also suggest you log on to www.ireland.com/ancestor/ (The Irish Times website) and search Carley. This shows up 42 Carley households in mid 1800s'with 20 or so in Co. Roscommon!!. Happy hunting.

All the best
Greg Carley
