HI,
I hope you are still following this. My grandfather and Matilda's mom were siblings---though she was older by 17 years. So Matilda was my father's cousin-- she was married when he was just a baby. She was born in 1880 in Quincy MA--her maiden name was McDonnell--and Will in 1876. The McDonnell's were in the granite business, a major industry in Quincy and the family was very large. Will was from NH but lived in Q, I forget starting when. They marriedin Quincyand then gradually moved across country. Then Will went into business in Shanghai, China. When the Japanese came, they had to clear out--I think it might have been a close call for them. The youngest of their three kids was Arlene ... I knowArlene had 2, maybe 3 kids--Mary, Richard---and Matilda? I can't find birth info on youngest but the name is just too coincidental. You must be from Richard or Matilda, right?
Please contact me if you get this--I can tell you more and I have questions for you. Thanks.
