All Carl, Carle & Carll searchers.
There was a 42 page book compiled by Skip Carl of Baldwin, NY in 1974.It is titled "A CARL FAMILY HISTORY""The Story of an Old Long Island Family from 1656, Town of Hempstead, Long Island".I found a copy of the unpublished book in 1997 at the Cooperstown, NY Museum Library, after searching for it for many years.I was able to photo copy it as there is no copy right. It is AVAILABLE now through the Latter Day Saints Library and can be copied from film. The name Carle was the original spelling of Captain Thomas, then it was changed to Carll by his son Timothy of Huntington and others spelled it Carl.It is Carl that is my line.I have my line completed to the present time from Captain Thomas 1656 to John Carl 1755-1836.He was a United Empire Loyalist who fought with Butler's Rangers at Niagara and following the war, settled on Crown Land in the Niagara Peninsula, where he died.
