My records on Joseph Carle & Josephine Schoop show that they were Married on December 25, 1868 in Ross County, OH, more than likely in Chilicothe.Joesph was born December 27th 1848 in Alsace-lorraine France.Died September 18, 1900 in Circleville.Buried in St Joesph Cemetery in Circleville.

Joseph & brothers William & Theodore were left in France by the parents (Joseph & Caroline) in 1853.They were to remain there with relatives until they reached age 18.Their parents had lost a baby about that time and decided it would be better since going to a new country that the children would remain in France.They came to the USA same time Charles and wife Clara.About 1868.

According to my records they came to US in 1853, Stopping a short time in Chillicothe then moved to Saltcreek for a short time.Then to Circleville.Joseph owned grocery on West Main Street until 1878 when he sold business and family moved to 459 North Court Street.
