Evening Dale, Thank you for your kind reply.Food for thought.
I have e-mailed a number of Carle researchersonthe New Brunswick Thomas Carle, and felt in a quandry: Timelines don't add up".
I have been in contact with Joan Gilday concerning the Peters family, never thought to ask her about what she knew about the New Brunswick Carles.
I do believe we are descended from Capt.Thomas Carle (1638,Scotland-1676,Hempstead, L.I.)and Sarah B. Halstead. However, which Joseph Carle are we descended from.
Belief is one thing; genealogy is based on a shred(s) of fact.
E. Stone Wiggins, in his "History of Queen's County, N.B." wrote that "Thomas Clark Carle, of the firm of Carle & Vaughan, merchants, Indiantown (Saint John), is the son of Joseph Carle.(Reprinted and indexed by George H. Hayward, 1993)
In trust, George Shaw
