Dear Fran,

Thank You for responding. Regarding spelling of name....:) I have my Grandmother's Kirkhuff Family Bible and they have spelled it several ways even in that as they made their entries. Mainly interchanging the u and o.

I do not know of anyone personally doing research on your end of the family.

Another brother of John and Jesse lived here in Susquehanna County, Penn. from 1840 on.

Kirkhuff name is famous here! Jehile Kirkhuff won the National Fiddling Contest. He was so outstanding that much of his music is preserved at the Smithsonian. He NEVER had a lesson..... played by ear he told me. )))) He made his transition March 1981. His father was Barney Kirkhuff. Doing research in Knowlton I was surprised at the number of families from there that migrated here about the same time as my ggg Grandparents.

You have a wondeful day, Nancy
