Hi: I am the down line of Robert Carithers who married Mary Luckie. He was born 1744 in PA (Lancaster). Served in the Rev. War from SC and married Mary in SC. Some if not all of his children were born in SC (somewhere around Union Co. I think). He moved to GA and owned land in Oglethorpe, Madison, Elbert as well as maybe other counties. One of his sons (James) married Penelope Tillman in GA in 1787. They had a son Amos Carithers who married Elizabeth Eleanor Thompson (she was the daughter of William Thompson who married Nancy Tillman .... Penelope's sister). Amos was born in 1815. I have a probate record for James that lists his wife Penelope and Amos as Exect. of the probate. It lists his children but never mentions that Amos is his son. I am looking for proofs that Amos was the son of James and Penelope Tillman Carithers of GA. Any help with this line appreciated.
