The latest generation that I have followed of the Carithers is Amos who was b 1814 (son of James and Penelope Tillman Carithers) who died 1868 from a disease contacted in the Civil War. He is buried in Thompson Family Cemetery Esco Road, Danielsville, Madison Co., GA. His wife was Elizabeth Eleanor Thompson who died 1897 and is buried in Thompson Cemetery also. Her parents were William and Nancy Tillman (sis of Penelope) Thompson. Their children were: Nancy Arminta b 1837; William Hilyer b 1838; Mary Amanda b 1839; Margaret A b 1841; Berry Milroy b 1842; Harriet Emiline b 1842; Martha Jane b 1845; Thomas Lee b 1847; John Cass b 1848; Sarah Frances b 1850; and Amos Walker b 1852. All of the children were born in Madison Co., GA. Spouses for the girls were: Nancy A married Joseph Judson Key; Mary Amanda m George Simeon Key; Margaret A. m. Jesse White Griffeth; Harriet m. James T. Johnson Sr.; Martha Jane m Washington J. Bolton; Sarah Frances m Andrew J Burroughs. This is where my Carithers line stops because I go from this line to the Burroughs line from here up to me. Any help with this family would be appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort. Peggy
