Hi Jan:
I am researching my Carithers from MS and trying to link to SC ancestors.
My G GF John J. Brown m. Roxie M. Carithers, 1889, Carroll Co., MS.
Her parents were William H. Carithers (Caruthers,Carothers) b. March, 1839 in MS. Census states his Father was from SC and his mother GA.
His wife Clementine Carroll b. June 1851 in MS and states her Father was from SC and mother NC. Clementine was 1/2 Choctaw Indian.
William H. served in the CSA, 29th Inf co A. and buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery Carroll Co., MS. His headstone states he served in Co. G. No dates on the marker.
Children were Roxie M. b. 1867,
L. (female) b. 1868, F. (male) b. 1873, H.H. (male)b. 1875,
Another L. (female) 1878; all b. MS.
Hope you or others can help me link to the Carolina's.
I Did find a William in SC 1810 I think but ?
