I have been searching for years for the parents of my gg grandfather William Louis B. Caruthers.
I have found enough information over the weekend to prove that his father most likely was Berry T. CARITHERS (son of James Walton Carithers and Penelope Tillman)from Madison Co., GA. B: 1822 in Madison Co., GA died in Memphis TN in 1881. His wife is listed in the Shelby Co., Census in 1870 and in the City Directory. M.E. Caruthers (Mary E. Hall?) died in Memphis, TN in 1873 of Consumption.
Most if not all of his children were in Memphis at some point throughout the 1870's and 80's. I have photos of William L.B. Caruthers and on down the line if you need the information. The family is quite extensive but many of them died or never had children.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience if you have more information on this Carithers/Caruthers line. There is no one left on this side of my family that really cares about the genealogy and I am giddy that I have finally made the connection after 8 years of searching. :)
