Thank you for your interest. I had wondered what the chances are of finding any records in Ireland.

According to the story passed on to me, our Carey ancestor was the son of a tailor in Dublin who delivered clothing and was shanghaied prior to the revolutionary war. He supposedly married the daughter of Capt. Grant (an American).

Does this sound plausible?
