David

We may have exchanged messages in the past. Do you live in Calgary?

Until recently, the earliest I knew of my family was that my gg-grandfather James Carey was born in Scotland in 1815 and that his parents were William Carey and Marion Wylie.

However, one of my distant cousins who lives in Scotland and is also very interested in family history just informed me that he has seen a record of the death of William Carey in a Glasgow workhouse. It indicates that William was born in Ireland around 1792.

Given our DNA match, I agree that we are likely from the same Carey line.

I had not poked around much in County Mayo until now but I will be doing so.

Let's stay connected.

John
