Carey's (Tracy's) in Niagara County, NY
Posted by: John Carey (ID *****4730) Date: April 03, 2008 at 15:42:46
  of 2872

Daniel and Bridget Tracy Carey arrived Somerset, NY late 1862/early 1863. Records of St. Patricks Church (Barker) show baptism of several chidren (William, James, Daniel, Elizabeth, Katherine, Joseph, Mary) in 1860's/1870's. Three sons (Michael, Martin and Jerry, born in Ireland) arrived at Port of New York May 1863 accompanied by grandparents (Martin and Eliza Tracy). Carey and Tracy families appear on census in towns of Somerset, Hartland, Gasport and Royalton. Many of Carey family are buried at St Stephens Cemetery (Middleport). Carey children married Carey(?), Hickey, Tracey and Mulcahey.

Any information on the Carey or Tracy families would be appreciated. Would especially like to learn where families came from in Ireland.

Thank you.
