Maria Jane Carey (could also be Martha) was born around 1818 in Middletown, CT. She married Charles Ashton in Middletown 1 AUG 1840. Their daughter, Ellen, married George D. Kay 29 JUN 1866. Their daughter, Minnie Bell Kay, married Walter Dudley Brockett and their daughter, Minnie Bell Brockett was my grandmother, born in New Haven, CT.
The problem is that I have no further info on the Carey family. I presume they were Irish just by the name, but I don't know.
Any info or focused search sites would be very helpful.
