I, too, have a gggrandfather John Carey who married Mary Gilroy and lived near Scranton (Minooka), PA. He was born in Co. Mayo in 1848 and arrived in Phila, in Aug., 1866. Went to coal mines in Scranton. Married Mary Gilroy c. 1869 and produced Winifred, Mary, Theresa, Patrick, Ellen, and Elizabeth. He died in 1898. Is it the same family? There were many Carey's.
