According to Family Search (www.familysearch.org), Nancy and William E. are the parents of Newton D.K. Redinbo who was born 26 Jan 1872 in Shelby Co., OH.The correct spelling of the surname is Redinbaugh.William E. was born 1851 in Shelby Co., and died there 21 June 1896. His parents were Jonas Redinbaugh and Elizabeth Baker who were married 18 Oct 1838 in Shelby Co.Nancy was born 1852 in Shelby Co., OH.Her parents were Thomas M. Cary, born 16 Dec 1812 in Shelby Co. died there 1873, and Cynthia Cole, born there about 1812.Thomas M. was a direct descendant of “John Cary, the Plymouth Pilgrim” (ref. Seth C. Cary’s 1911 book by that title).
Nancy apparently died before the 1880 census of Shelby Co. when William E. is listed as a boarder in the household of William McIntosh and Newton is listed in the household of George W. and Sarah Hawver. The Hawvers do not appear to be kin.Sarah’s maiden name was Sarah Margaret Burdette.
The Glick Cary in whose household Newton Redinbaugh is listed in the 1900 census, was the son of William T. Carey and Margaret V. Glick.William T. was the uncle of Nancy, Glick’s mother and the half-brother of Thomas M. Cary.
Newton Redinbaugh’s wife Sadie was 39 years old in the 1910 census of Shelby Co., OH.She was not the Sadie, age 10 daughter of the John W. and Elva (not Eliza) Carey in the same census.
She was born two years (1871) before John W. Carey (1873).John W. was a descendant of Thomas Cary, the Maryland Immigrant and founder of my line in America.Newton’s wife was probably the daughter of a John Cary who descended from the Plymouth Pilgrim and lived in Shelby County, i.e. John H. born 1850 Shelby Co. son of Jeremiah, born 1850 or John S.,born 1848 in Shelby Co., son of John W. Cary.
