This is the obit for my mother-in-law of Alice Belshaw Sprague.
She was the granddaughter of David and Alice Cynthia McBride Carey.
Alice Elizabeth Belshaw Sprague
May 12, 1921 - Oct. 5, 2005
A graveside service for Alice Elizabeth Belshaw Sprague, 84, of Coos Bay, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Norway Cemetery. Chaplain John Sheese will officiate.
Alice was born May 12, 1921, in North Bend, to Charles and Lottie Belshaw. She died Oct. 5, 2005, in Bandon, after a long battle with lung disease.
She spent her life enjoying her family, friends and gardening. She expressed often what a happy and fulfilled life she had led, and what a remarkable journey she had traveled. Gardening was her favorite activity and her generosity of sharing cuttings from her yard assures the family that parts of Alice's gardens will continue to grow everywhere throughout the Northwest.
The tremendous number of people whose lives she touched in so many ways will miss her strength, spirit and humor.
She was the loving mother of Mark and Paul Sprague, wife of Alvin Sprague, and sister of Maryann Anderson, all longtime residents of Myrtle Point.
Alice is survived by her sons, Mark and wife, Patsy, of Silver Springs, Nev., and Paul and wife, Kathy, of Langlois; sister, Maryann Anderson of Myrtle Point; granddaughters, Shannon and husband, Tim Arntzen, and Jodie Sprague, all of Tri-Cities, Wash.; and great-granddaughter, Sheridan, of Tri-Cities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; and her parents.
Arrangements are under the direction of Amling/Schroeder Funeral Service, Myrtle Point Chapel, 572-2524.
