My grandfather, William Lincoln Augustine, born july 4, 1867, married a Carey around the turn of the century. Her first name when I knew her was Theresa, but family legend says it was different at the christening. Her father was Thomas Carey. He was a policman in Memphis, Tennessee. My grandmother was born in Feb., of 1885. I am not sure whether she was born in Memphis or Bihalia, Mississippi. Any connection?
