Campbell County Will Book 12:198 In the name of God Amen: I Richard Cary of Campbell County and State of Virginia, do make this my last will and testament, being of sound mind and desposing (disposing) memory. Item. I will that my funeral expenses be paid. Item. I will that my first debts be paid. Item. I loan to my beloved wife Rebecca Cary, all of my perishable property of every description during her natrial (natural) life at her deth (death) the same to be equally devided (divided) amongst my three daughters namely, Lucy Cary, Martha E. Cary and Rebecca M. Cary. Item. I give to three daughters above daughters above named, AViz. Lucy Cary, Martha E. Cary and Rebecca M. Cary@ my tract of land lyine (lying) and being in the County of Campbell on the waters of Falling River containing 150 acres: to be equally divided amongst them, subject however to the dower of my beloved wife Rebecca Cary. Item. My other children, namely: James W. Cary, John H. Cary, Eliza Hendrick, Sarah W. Johnson, Mary I. Trent, and Saluda N. Cumby being already provided for and doing well, I give to each of them Athe said James W. Cary, John H. Cary, Eliza Hendrick, Sarah W. Johnson, Mary I. Trent, and Saluda N. Cumby@ one dollar. Item. I appoint James W. Cary as the executor of this my last will and testament on testamony (testimony) whereof I hereunto set my hand and affix my seal this 16th day of November 1858.
