Beth,You were right that Patrick Carey married to Ann Flynn is son of Edward Carey and Catherine Kelly, I found the marriage in Drouin.They married on 30 Apr.1833 in Montreal, (parish not specified so probably Notre Dame, only parish at the time).Ann Flynn is widow of Terence Dunn.As for the others my guess is that Auclair should be right about John.So we could speculate that John and Patrick could be brothers and landed both in New-York.This could help to look for them on passenger's list.
