Brenda, I feel your pain!!! <grin> Yes, there are tons of Perrin Cardwell to attempt to figure out... as well as many Thomas, John, William, etc. First, please send me details about your Elizabeth that moved to Texas. I don't have her in my database. Your downline is a little off. This should get you on the right track. Perrin Cardwell - born ca 1778 in Stokes Co.,NC - married Caterine Cook in Adair Co,KY Perrin's father was Perrin Cardwell of Stokes Co.,NC. He married in Rowan Co.,NC (I'm away from my notes and can't remember the brides name). The area that they lived remained the same, but the county lines moved a couple of times. It was confusing to determine what was going on at first. This Perrin moved to NC when it was basically wilderness. He served during the Rev. War with the NC militia and fought at the famous Battle of King's Mountain. After the war in remained in NC until around 1805 or so and then moved to Adair Co.,KY. He died there without leaving a will. Perrin the Rev. War Veteran was the son of John Cardwell and Keziah Low(e) of Virginia. John being one of the four brothers (John, Thomas, Richard and George) that were given land by their father Thomas Cardwell in the 1750s. Thomas Cardwell was married to Martha Perrin... that is where the name came from. Anyway, hope this helps get you on the right track. Good luck with your research. Rand Cardwell
