Diggers, Recently, a living male descendant of John Franklin Cardwell (1800-1877) took part in the Cardwell DNA Project. This was the first Cardwell from the Simon Cardwell line to take part in our study. Their results indicate that Simon, and his descendants, are genetically linked to Cardwell Line II. That Line has been dominated by the descendants of Robert Cardwell of Campbell County, VA. Many early researchers linked Simon as a son of Robert. Though the results does not prove that conclusively they do indicate that the two lines are very closely related. Simon could easily be an older son of Robert. He might have been the son of one of Robert's Cardwell relatives. I'm leaning towards Simon being a son of Robert. If anyone has any documented proof showing a connection between Simon and Robert please contact me. With these results I've started adding the descendants of Simon to Cardwell Line II family tree that I maintain on Ancestry.com So, if you have any information on the Alabama lines please contact me. Here is a link to the Cardwell DNA Project. http://www.cardwellfamily.org/html/dna.html Thanks, Rand Notify Administrator about this message?
