Cardner may also be found as Gardner

It is believed that Ephraim Codner/Cardner had 10 children, all born in Exeter, Washington, Rhode Island:
Barber Codner/Cardner b. prob. 1785
David Codner/Cardner, b. 1791-1796
Ephraim b. December 29, 1778
Anna b. 1780
Kenyon, b. 1787
Merabah b. 1794
Charlotte b. 1798
Stephen b. 1789
Phebe b. 1800
Patience b. 1782

I find it interesting and important that the owner of one of the Madison County, NY pages, has found records that indicate that Merebah (whose name is spelled many different ways) was probably "filed" under Gardner. Causes me to wonder just how many ways this name was spelled and what it was originally. AND if this could be why this family has been so hard to research!
