Update:
Son of William W. Carden/Cardin and Martha Ann Derby Carden
Thomas Leroy Carden/Cardin(1866) wife's maiden name has been found.
Texas Death Certificate states she was
Sarah Frances Harrah
born in Dewitt Co, Illinois Nov 22, 1872
died in Houston Co, Texas Sept 8, 1954.
Information given by V.H. Cardin and she is married. Parents were S.E.Harrah and mother as Sarah Taylor Harrah. Buried at Rosewood Park Cemetery Humble, Texas.
This clears up which one was married to Sarah Frances Maynard, it had to be James S. Carden/Carden son Thomas L Cardin/Carden(1871), which are all still in the same line of
William W. Cardin/Carden children and grandchildren.
I hope I'm not confusing you with all the Thomas's and Sarah Frances!!
So the three Children listed for Thomas and Sarah F on the 1900 Shelby Co, Al census namely Thomas L. 1892, Vernon H. 1896, Marion 1898, belong to Thomas L Cardin/Carden (1866).

Thomas Carden/Cardin(1871) died abt 1901 killed by a train, in Ensley, AL.
