Sorry - it looks like the link to the post re the Cardew connection back to Elizabeth I didn't work. Here are the details
Finally, George Ambrose Cardew ( whom I am pretty certain is the son of Capt CB Cardew) married into lineage that can be traced back to friends and acquaintances of Elizabeth 1, including one who was executed for attempting a coup against her :)
