I was delighted to receive your message. Yes, I am also descended from Capt. Chris Baldock Cardew through his son George Ambrose Cardew, brother of Herbert Walter Cardew. I have a fairly comprehensive family tree (Family Tree Maker V16), although when I take a look at the branch descending from Herbert I find it expires at the marriage of Norman Carson Scott and Grace Mildred Hubbard Cardew. I would like to add the details of their descendants up to and including yourself - can I view your tree please?
You may or may not know that Chris Baldock Cardew married the daughter of a Peer - Eliza Jane Bethell, daughter of Richard Bethell, 1st Lord Westbury. They had 5 sons (Philip, George, Hubert, Herbert, Arthur) & 4 daughters (Sylvia, Emily, Ada, Mary).
I have a vast collection of material on Cardews which was acquired in the last 3 years from a Cardew cousin (who sadly died). I havent had time to digitise this collection, although it is expected that a partial transcription (of our branch of Cardews) will be done sometime this year. I have a number of pictures of Cardews, going back to Rev. Cornelius Cardew ca 1830
